Regex Category


A regular expression (regex or regexp for short) is a special text string for describing a search pattern.
WikkaWiki makes large use of regex for parsing and formatting WikkaSyntax as valid HTML.
The syntax of regex is very rich and there are good tutorials to start learning it.

This category contains links to pages related to the use of regular expressions in WikkaWiki. In particular, discussions related to email and link validation, formatters and other functions using regex should be listed in this category.
When creating such pages, be sure to include Category Regex [without space] at the bottom of each page, so that page shows here.

Hmm. Today was a historic day for Wikka. Our first case of vandalism? Might LiKo be the first Wikka user to be banned? [Of course, this would require creating a system to handle bans.]

Time will tell....

I'll give him/her the benefit of the doubt for now.

Maybe somebody just "testing" the wiki environment? It is, supposedly, a completely "legitimate" wiki-act to just erase a page (a perspective I always found a little weird). I actually went to it, saw it was blank and went, "huh, somebody created an almost blank page. Weird."....guess I should've checked the history feature myself (but I think it really says something about me as a wiki-user that it didn't....an "edited" page I'll check history on to see what changed, but an empty page I didn't....hmmm). "Benefit of the doubt" seems a good step.

In addition - since this is a "category" page, LiKo's action might have resulted from a "benevolent misunderstanding" about how the category system works (thinking, perhaps, that a category page should contain nothing *but* a reference to the category it belongs to). We already know that the current category system isn't ideal...
