JsnX, I saw that on the FreeMind site the fact that Wikka has native supports for their maps is not mentioned. Maybe we should ask them whether they are interested in adding a pointer to the Wikka site and a small announcement about this feature that might certainly interest FreeMind users.

Oh, and maybe convince them to migrate to Wikka Wiki on their site ;-)

Um, MediaWiki is a little less "lightweight" than Wikka - they probably have a reason to use it ... :)

"Note: you must have Java 1.4 installed to view maps."
I think you only need the JRE? (Java Runtime Environment) - full-blown Java is a lot more than that.

I think it would be really cool if it was possible to edit the pages from the freemind browser and then save them, maybe via ftp, or similar. This would require some changes in the browser, and probably to make it a plugin of firefox, so that it does not need to be downloaded every time. A bit like the programs to look at video on the internet. I tried to suggest this in this forum: [[http://sourceforge.net/forum/forum.php?thread_id=1423633&forum_id=22101]]
but I did not receive much response. I have looked a bit in the jabber plugin I was suggested, but it seem a plugin for the freemind, and not for the browser. I am not sure if it would be possible to set up the wikka to open mind maps directly with the freemind software (not the browser), with the jabber plugin also set up correctly. What do the other people of this community think?

Am I the only one that feels that there should be better possibility to edit things on the run? If not, and you can explain better than me what we need, so that we can then integrate their software better.

Many thanks,
Pietro

Cut and paste is also useful.
Freemind has to be extended with "import from clipboard"
and "copy to clipboard"
then we can when both a wikkawiki and a freemind screen are open:
- copy the wikkawiki freemind source to clipboard and import that in freemind
- edit it
- copy the new mindmap to clipboard and paste it again in the wiki edit window.

Furthermore I think it would be useful to add formatting parameters for a wikkawiki freemap display window. To control the size of the window.

I am currently preparing the generation of mindmaps from a wiki to display part of a category on a page.
Does anyone know how important the node ID tags and the created, modyfied tags are?
