I just selected Wikka as my start in Wiki-Life, the main reason being the freemind feature among
other selection CriTeria. 
I am using  a VMware container with Linux Debian Sarge 3.1, Kernel 2.6.14;
this is my first venture into mysql, php and the wiki world.

My main objective is to use mindmaps to obtain a certain structure of my documents, for instance to have a purely historical log of a project and a display of the current status. I think WikkaWiki offers the best features for such an aproach. 

Another (minor) objective is the management of a huge quantity of small information snippets (article abstracts, software descriptions, etc.).
