Upgrading Wikka
Backup, backup backup! before upgrading
Wikka releases are upgrade tested before release, but, for your protection, backup all your Wikka files and the Wikka database tables before upgrading.
If you experience any issues with upgrading, leave feedback below.
To upgrade Wikka to a new version:
- Upload all the files in the latest release file to the Wikka installation directory on your web server. Overwrite existing Wikka files.
- Start your favorite web browser and point it at the Wikka installation directory.
- You'll see the upgrade page, look it over and make any desired changes, then click Continue at the bottom of the page.
- That's it.

Q: Is the table structure the same as WakkaWiki 0.1.2? Is it possible to upgrade to Wikka by simply overwriting the previous wakka installation? -- DarTar
A: Yes, it will be possible to upgrade by overwriting. Wikka's table structure has expanded beyond Wakka's. But it will be possible to upgrade. It is highly recommended that you backup your Wakka database and files before upgrading. The upgrade code should be regarded as beta, at this time.
