Hi there!

I've just released another wakka fork. Unlike Wikka, which is a wonderfull general purpose wiki engine, [[http://uniwakka.sourceforge.net UniWakka]]'s goal is to provide a collaborative authoring tool for scientific web content.

The features thus far developed include:
- MathML support: math can be inserted with a latex like format;
- Multi-language support with UTF-8;
- WikiFarm installation; i.e. the possibility to run multiple Wikis with just one installation of UniWakka;
- OpenOffice export;
- Latex export of WikiPages;
- Bibtex import, export and management;
- Possibility to use latex-like citation reference and bibliographies;
- RDF Summary for the whole Wiki or for single pages, with revision history and various information;
- a shared calendar;
- html tables, smileys and much more...

[[http://uniwakka.sourceforge.net UniWakka]] also provides an export filter for [[http://openoffice.org OpenOffice]]: you can use [[http://openoffice.org OpenOffice Writer]] to write your documents and then esport them in the [[http://uniwakka.sourceforge.net UniWakka]] file format...

''JsnX: you could use it as a basis for creating an export filter for the Wikka file format.''

''Andrea, is your code available? I'm specifically interested in the OpenOffice export support as I have someone who could work on adapting it to wikka --GmBowen (aka Mike)''

''Sure it is! You can get everything [[https://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=115750 here]]''
--AndreaRossato

[[http://www.istitutocolli.org/uniwakka/ Your can give it a try!]]

Anyway WikkaWiki is a very nice effort. Thanks JsnX!

The features thus far developed include:
1. MathML support;
2. Footnote and Table of Contents;
3. RDF Site Summary with diffs and a lot of information;
4. Latex export (planned: DocBook XML and OpenOffice);
5. real multilanugage support (not in the UI): data are stored as iso-8859-1 plus UNICODE entities in database, printed as ascii plus UNICODE entities, and presented to the users in forms as UTF8. This way any language that can be expressed with UTF8 can be used;
6. user input is checked for well-formedness (the output is XHTML 1.1 plus MathML, that is to say, XML).

The WakkaWiki fork will be (hopefully) sincronized with a CitiWiki fork too.

Anyway WikkaWiki is a very nice effort. Thanks JsnX!
