Experimental Features
If there is a place for this type of questions/topic, please feel free to delete this page. It seems a lot of experimental features has been around for 3 years or more. When will these features be added to the core? Wikka 1.1.6.0 demo[1] on an installation with some "Beta Features" (a.k.a. "experimental features") does not accurately demo the release capabilities.
[1] I just saw the demo is running the vanilla release. Yes, the main site isn't. My question still stands.
Please discuss.
- Hi David, thanks for popping by. The demo server runs on the latest stable package (1.1.6.3, which was released in May 2007), if you want to take a look at the latest unstable package directly built from our SVN repository, you can download it and test it locally. This server (wikkawiki.org) is not meant to be a demo and will be replaced with a clean engine as soon as 1.1.7 is out.
There has been a lot of recent development about structural features that may not be visible to the end user. These changes will be released with 1.1.7 while a number of antispam modules currently installed here as "beta features" (including user- and page administration) will be included in the forthcoming 1.1.6.4 antispam-focused release. For a general roadmap of Wikka development you can check out this page. I hope this answers your question -- DarTar
- Excellent! Thank you, this clarifies quite a bit. I will be playing with the SVN tarballs soon. -- DavidCollantes
