Additions:
I am a long time computer programmer (since before there was such a thing as Windows or even MS-DOS) and an Apache/PHP/MySQL developer for a few years now, using a variety of IDEs (Zend Studio, MacroMedia Dreamweaver (yes, pre-Adobe), and my favorite, ""ActiveState"" Komodo).
I'm relatively new to the whole concept of a wiki (I've been a control freak with my websites for the most part, either writing PHP/MySQL "from scratch" or using content management systems like Drupal, Joomla, WordPress. For tutoring and online lessons, I typically use Moodle).
With all the various wikis out there, what really prompted my arrival here is the link from FreeMind... Yup. Big mind-mapping fan here. Stay tuned in long enough and I"ll probably put one right here. Though I do find myself working more often with the "pro" MindMapping software. Primarily Inspiration but for those times when I need to interface with Microsoft Project, I'll revert to MindManager

Deletions:
I am a long time computer programmer (since before there was such a thing as Windows or even MS-DOS) and an Apache/PHP/MySQL developer for a few years now, using a variety of IDEs (Zend Studio, Macromediea Dreamweaver, and my favorite, ""ActiveState"" Komodo). New to the whole concept of a wiki (I've been a control freak with my websites for the most part) though looking forward to finding a topic that will become (ahem) wildly popular. Possibilities include:
~- General hob-nobbing about PHP in general, and the facets of software engineering where the typical newbie is sadly under-educated. Things like...
~~- unit testing
~~- design patterns
~~- self-documenting code
~~- version control
~- Role-playing. Specifically, the possibility of telling an in-depth interactive story, using an open-source rules set like Fate or Fudge. With the possibility of a bit of tinkering with the Wikki source code to allow things like dice rolls, building interactive online advetures, etc.
With all the various wikis out there, what really prompted my arrival here is the link from FreeMind. Yup. Big mind-mapping fan here. Stay tuned in long enough and I"ll probably put one right here. Though I do find myself working more often with the "pro" MindMapping software. Primarily //Inspiration// but for those times when I need to interface with //Microsoft Project// I'll revert to //""MindManager""//

PS. If anyone has figured out a way to have multiple wikka subdomains share a common code base (perhaps with some fancy mod_rewrite tricks?) please let me know... mailto:gruumsh@yahoo.com (you didn't think think I'd put my //main// email in a place the spam-bots could reach, did you? :)
