Private Wiki

I use WikkaWiki as my PrivateWiki (some may call it PersonalWiki). It servers as a notebook, To-do list, PIM (Personal Information Manager), it organizes my information and knowledge, it's a place where I write down my ideas. It's an archive - for information I don't want to lose/get lost and for information, that may be of use to me in the future.

Why WikkaWiki as private wiki?
I searched a long time for a Free/Libre Open Source wiki, that can be installed on a shared hosting LAMP, and that is suitable for my purpose (to use it as a PrivateWiki). WikkaWikki is far away to be a perfect solution, but it seemed to be the best what I could get. So I started my first private wiki with WikkaWiki. If there is a better private wiki software out there, please drop me a note. Until that, I try to get a long with WikkaWiki.

Welcome aboard!

"WikkaWikka is far away to be a perfect solution"

Please tell us what's missing from Wikka that would make it a "perfect solution" for you...

Oh, thanks for the welcome :)

I'll organize my thoughts about needed features for a private wiki and publish it here in the next few days.

'Kontakte', you should be able to create this page if you are logged in. How are you trying to create it? What are your default acls set at?

@WillyPS: I'm logged in with admin account (ACL: all !*). Got this problem with "Kontakte" in two WikkaWiki installations. I create a link [[kontakte]], click on that link, want to save the page and get the error: "You don't have permission to access /Kontakte/edit on this server."

Can create "contacts" (and all other pages) without any problems.

ScRa--

Delete the "Kontakt" string from the SetEnvIfNoCase arg in your .htaccess file. The error is being generated by your httpd server, not by Wikka...

@NilsLindenberg: since the new Wikka version I get a search menu (while in page edit mode), when I press STRG + F (default browser search function), where I can "Search / Replace"
