I do not think I would need other charsets, as I would restrict it to English (the default), German and Dutch.

I hacked the Wikka Wakka Wiki engine 1.1.6.1. in order to get it working as a multi-language wiki. My current site is in English, Dutch and German, with some links to switch languages. For now the default language is English. The Dutch and German pages are empty as yet.

Deletions:
For content management of the regular public pages, i'd like to develop some multi-language system.
I would like to have a language-switch on the page:
~(1) changing the UI language
~(2) changing the main text and menues of the page to the language chosen
~(3) if the language chosen does not exist for that page, switch to the same page in another (default) language including a small apology.
Ad (1). For UI changes there were already some localization proposals that would fit quite well.
Ad (2). For changing page language, I thought of adding a table in which the names of pages are stored that correspond to each other in different languages. Or alternatively, to add fields to the page tables that have names pointing to the corresponding pages in different languages.
Ad (3). The page handler should then include checking what language exist for that page, and then redirect.
In any case it seems very close to what DarTar is doing on the website he maintains.
Thoughts anyone?

I'm interested in getting it working as a multi-language wiki. My site is in English, Dutch and German. For now, I am integrating the wiki with my regular site as it is, and the wiki part in English only. It is not much of a problem for blogging and the co-authoring part. The blogging will be English and the co-authoring will be in languages of the client. The latter part will be accisible to the client only.
But for content management of the regular public pages, i'd like to develop some multi-language system.
I run Wikka locally on Mac OS X (10.3.9.). I will migrate the whole thing later to my regular server.
