My name is Kees Wiebering. I work as a freelance organization consultant and conflict mediator. I am planning to use Wikka as engine for my website for several purposes: content management, a blog, and - most importantly - an area where my clients can co-author and brainstorm the WikiWay.

I am transforming my site to be run on Wikka. It can be found on: wiki.views-and-vision.org.

I'm interested in getting it working as a multi-language wiki. My current site is in English, Dutch and German. For now, I am integrating the wiki with my regular site as it is, and the wiki part in English only.

For content management of the regular public pages, i'd like to develop some multi-language system.

I would like to have a language switch on the page doing
(1) changing the UI language
(2) changing the main text of the page to the language chosen
(3) if the language chosen does not exist for that page, switch to the same page in another (default) language including a small apology.

Ad (1). For UI changes there were already some localization proposals that would fit quite well.
Ad (2). For changing page language, I thought of adding another field in the database into which the language of that page is stored. It would also mean adding a field to the edit handler for language code.
Ad (3). The page handler should then include checking what language exist for that page.

I do not think I would need other charsets, as I would restrict it to English (the default), German and Dutch.

Thoughts anyone?
