Ein **Wiki** (ausgesprochen "wikki" oder "wickie", wie in der gleichnamigen Zeichentrickserie *g*) ist eine Website (oder eine andere Sammlung von Hypertext-Dokumenten), die es mehreren Benutzern erlaubt Inhalte einzufügen, während sämtliche Bearbeitungsschritte gesichert werden .
Kurzum, ein Wiki ist eines der mächtigsten Werkzeuge für **web-basiertes kollaboratives Schreiben** und ein populäres Beispiel für sogenannte [[SocialSoftware soziale Software]].
Eine WikiEngine ist die Software, die benutzt wird um solche Seiten zu erstellen und zu hosten. So läuft beispielsweise dieses Wiki mit Hilfe der WikkaWiki-Engine.
